Welcome
Welcome to our website. Here at Sharetrees, we are a bunch of Southern California students and adults committed to a single goal: we strive to make the world a better place. We invite you to explore our site and learn about all that we’re doing to make a difference in the world. We are a California public benefit non-profit organization dedicated to creating volunteer opportunities for helping people in need to overcome their challenges, while developing meaningful relationships with them.
Gifts to the GOALS Hockey Program
Hockey4All coaches helped facilitate the donation of a sizable cache of hockey gear to the Anaheim Duck's GOALS program, which gives opportunity to disadvantaged youth to be able to play this exciting sport. (Below) Left to right: Andrew Hung, Andrew Chang, Jay Shim, GOALS head coach Luis Castro.
Sharetrees members donated a ping pong table to the GOALS youth hockey program. There is nothing as fun as table tennis for cross training!

Thanks to the Mater Dei Monarchs hockey team (below) for donating hockey gear to the GOALS program of Anaheim. Team members Andrew Hung (1st row, 3rd from left) and Andrew Chang (1st row, 4th from left) volunteer their expertise to GOALS as Sharetrees Hockey4All junior coaches.

Adult Volunteer Makes A Difference
We are privileged to benefit from the artistic talents of Stacey Nam, mother of Change4Change president Sky Jung. She designed our logo, which is prominently displayed at the top of every page of this website. Recently, she printed buttons and t-shirts for our members to wear in order to promote awareness of Sharetrees' presence and work in the community. This is very helpful to us since we are a new nonprofit organization focused on providing service opportunities especially for busy students. Thank you Stacey for this valuable gift to Sharetrees!
A New Face at Sharetrees
Jaeeun Kim (below) knows hard work as a Biology/Pre-Nursing student at Merritt College in Oakland. Now, she is promoting another form of hard work, running, but with a goal that is beyond getting good exercise. Through the Run For Heart branch, donors have a chance to run and raise funds that will benefit heart disease patients with mounting medical bills. Click on the photo to learn more.
Gifting Music
Sharetrees volunteers banded together recently to help transport a drum set and trumpet to give as donations to Troy High School in Fullerton. The drum set represents a vast upgrade in instrument quality compared to what the high school previously had for its students.
Service With A Smile
Sharetrees members regularly serve up fruit cups as a refreshment to Troy High School staff and teachers. (Below) Andrew Chang, Livia Johan, and Justin Wang prepare to deliver the finished goods to the school office, where they will be claimed and enjoyed.
Recycling For Good
Our Recycling branch is always active collecting recyclable cans, bottles, and paper, converting those into cash which is then given to benefit our growing list of community improvement partners.
At the recycling center, the machine accurately credits our recycling tally based on the can or bottle inserted. It is fun to feed the machine!
Learn more about our Recycling branch by clicking on the button below. It also tells you about making a recycling donation to Sharetrees. Your recycling goods can help the underserved community!

About Sharetrees
We are always working on a variety of projects which aid those within our community. Through a variety of practical and creative means, we raise funds, which are then donated 100% to other community improvement organizations reaching out to needy people, most especially to at-risk and underprivileged kids. We also volunteer our time to directly help these organizations with their outreaches and events. In a similar effort, we collect and donate used sporting goods to give these kids a chance to enjoy the same sports that we enjoy. In addition, we offer free services such as school tutoring and sports coaching. See the full list of the community service organizations and other institutions which Sharetrees supports below.

Why We Do It
As it is our mission to make the world a better place, we are passionate about our motivation to joyfully and generously share what we have in life with those in need. We see needy people all around us, and we realize we have been given much. We experience much joy and fulfillment in sharing with others to bring joy into their lives. We are not motivated by financial gain, and in fact we who are students at Sharetrees are busy with academics and extra-curricular activities and have limited free time to spare. But we are motivated by a desire to help others.
How We Do It
For fundraising, we rely on simple and easy means to generate cash income, which we then donate with zero administration cost to our community partners. We have a number of branches which focus on specific fundraising methods. The Dollar-a-Month (DAM) branch offers people—even other kids!—the opportunity to donate what everyone can afford, merely one dollar a month to help others. The Change4Change branch gives people a place to donate their loose coins to make a change in the world. The Recycling branch collects recyclables and turns what would otherwise be trash into treasure to be shared with the needy. Two branches, Online Shop and Collection Drive, collect new and used goods and either redistribute to our community partners, or sell them online or in yard sales to generate cash for our community partners.
Besides fundraising, we physically offer our time and energy to assist our partners directly on site in their outreaches to needy kids and in Special Events. We also offer free Tutoring for all school subjects to give hope to kids who are struggling there. In youth sports, we offer free lessons and coaching through the Hockey4All branch to those who would otherwise not be able to afford what often is a luxury for many. Our specialty is ice hockey, but we are able to cover the full spectrum of youth sports.
A new branch gives kids the unique opportunity to learn and practice a foreign language by communicating directly with kids in other countries. This new branch is ILEP, International Language Exchange Program.
A Little History
For those of us who are eager high school student community service volunteers, we want to offer our time, talent, and energy to help other people. We had tried offering ourselves to various community improvement organizations, but found that it was often not easy for us to match our schedules with their schedules. We needed a way for us to provide ourselves with simple but meaningful opportunities to be of service not only to these organizations, but even directly with those in need. Thus was born the vision for a student-led service organization that would explore and forge these opportunities for all those who want to serve as we do. With a little help from some adults who wanted to see us fulfill our vision, we came up with the idea in early 2016 that is now Sharetrees. We are now a federal tax-exempt 501(C)(3) nonprofit and a California public benefit nonprofit organization.
